And as time pass by, more and more Motor Companies are opening here in the Philippines and this is because, if before, owning a car is considered a luxury, but in our generation it is becoming a necessity even by the Middle-Income Pinoys. Automotive Industry also includes Auto-Repair Shops, Spare Parts, Car wash, Detailing, and other businesses related to Cars.

Perfect timing for the Tourism Business, now that the Philippine government is strengthening this industry this year. As the Department of Tourism’s campaign – “It’s More Fun in the Philippines!” and if there are a lot of fun here, for sure there are also more businesses! This includes Travel Agencies, Souvenir Shops, Food Business, Transportation and even health. And another thing, this does not only target the foreign market but as well as the local tourists, and returning Pinoys from abroad. Isn’t a wonderful business?

Aside from Tourism, Fashion Industry could also be a hit this 2012. But competition in this field could be quite difficult especially with the advent supply of cheaper merchandise from abroad. But when we talk about design, Filipino craftsmanship are World Class! it is a given fact that most Filipinos are meticulous on how and what they are wearing. Thanks to spanish conquerors for giving us a high fashion sense.

The bottom-line is, Fashion business, is always an in-business and if you have a unique idea as well as design with a cheaper prices, big chances of success could be attained in this industry.

Anytime, Food Business is always a hit for Filipinos! It is already known that Filipinos love eating! But because of the lifestyle we currently have, a lot of us doesn’t have the luxury to cook that is why we tend to depend on the foods supplied by the abundant restaurants around our area. Not just that, almost all restaurants now have home delivery services … a proof on the business fast development.

A hidden restaurant in the midst of the city … The experience is very fascinating and relaxing when you visit Caffe Dolce. A restaurant specially created for vegetarian and those who loves vegetables and other healthy dishes.

A garden setting awaits the customers upon reaching the 2nd level of the building. Glass doors and walls makes the place even more classy.

The wallpaper can be considered one of the highlight of the interiors, it is then complimented by simple tables and transparent chairs. At one side of the restaurant, synthetic but equally beautiful plastic flowers are sold. It was imported from Taiwan.

The Veranda is quite simple yet evenly beautiful, you will have a great view of other buildings and establishments within the area and people crossing the streets. But this area is also expose to pollution though.

We had a short chat with the owner of the store Mrs. Joanna Kao-Lim, she is a taiwanese national married to a Filipino and been here in the Philippines for about 2 years if i’m not mistaken. She understand few tagalog words and not so verse in using the English language too thats why we asked the help of her Pinoy Architect who understand and speak Mandarin fluently.

According to Ms. Joanna, this is the first time she venture in putting up a business here in Manila. and it’s through this restaurant she can help other people to be healthy and start a compassionate living. Her husband is very supportive in her advocacy as well as her staff and crews in the restaurant.

But the place is just an introduction, the best part is when you started to taste their delicious foods one by one! Yey!

One of my favorite is the Tropical Fruit Pizza, it’s a very unique pizza with many fruits like strawberries, kiwi’s and pineapples. One of the main goal of Caffe Dolce is also to erase the thinking of a lot of people that being Vegetarian is limited to eating leafy vegetables, fruits and TOFU. For the casual meat eaters who finally decided to turn their backs to it, don’t you worry for Caffe Dolce assures that eating vegan dishes (with their Veggie meat and stuff) would be easy like counting 1, 2, 3!

Along Sumulong highway at the corner of San Jose street in the city of Antipolo, Rizal, lies a somewhat, ordinary bakeshop but wait till you get closer to its bread …

Just like other bakeshop found in every barrangay in metro manila, Domalon Bakeshop sells different types of bread that could relieve your hungy stomach.

But the type of bread we are going to show you definitely will capture your attention …

Meet our favorite lechon in bread form, Domalon bakeshop became popular in their area because of this pig-shaped bread which is actually an ordinary “monay” only formed in that shape.

According to the manager of the store, Ms. Charina,  they created it just for fun then later on became a hit in their area, it is sold starting with the smallest size P10, P15, P25, P50 and P100 for the biggest.

The only fallback though, because of  the open idea a lot of competitors copied the concept, and with lack of proper marketing (we guess) this concept which started in Domalaon became somewhat ordinary in their area.

How to make Suman? here's how ...

One of my favorite! Suman! and when we look for suman? We definitely find it in Antipolo City!

Suman has been popularly known in Antipolo as “Pasalubong” or present to friends or love ones specially for tourist and first timers or even people who usually visits the place. But did you know that Suman production actually started in Cainta, Rizal and not really in Antipolo? It was copied and later knowned and popularized in Antipolo though.

We had a short chat with one of the makers and sellers of Suman in Antipolo and according to her, this business became a big help specially to his fellow kababayan with in the City.

Ms. Baby thought us how easy it is to make my favorite Suman. Sticky rice are use, and then it is mixed with salt and coconut milk.

Use your bare hands in mixing to make it more accurate, just remember to clean and wash your hands before doing all of the procedures.

After mixing the ingredients, we are now ready to wrap the rice. Kampil, as what the local called it where use to wrap the sticky rice. Kampil is made from Buli leaf, it is being produce also within the area of Antipolo and is paid per sack.

Aling Baby thought me how to wrap the Suman, and i find it very challenging. Her workers do the wrapping almost 8 to 12 seconds only per piece. It was so fast i couldn’t follow how it was done. But as Aling Baby say’s they are doing it for decades everyday. I will be needing a lot of practice to perfect the right knot.

After wrapping, it was then arrange in a big casserole, and will be cooked for 1 hour and 30 minutes

Wait till it boils, then put a smash ginger on top. The ginger will enhance the smell as well as the taste of the Suman.

Well the best part of the whole process is still when it is ready to be eaten… hehehe .. it was best to be eaten cold though, with sugar or jam to give it a sweet taste. In the market of Antipolo, it was sold 3 for 20 pesos, but if you will directly buy in the place where suman is made like in Aling Baby’s you can avail it in  a much cheaper price.

Pinto Art Museum

Hidden Museum at the heart of Antipolo, Rizal. The Pinto Art Museum gives a big contribution to popular Arts and Culture of Antipolo, Rizal. Did you know that Antipolo City is consider one of the artist hub here in the Philippines. By the way PINTO is pronounce as PINTO(DOOR)  and not Pinto (Sam Pinto, gets?)

We have a short chat with one of the tour guides of the Museum, Mr. Andy Orencio. According to sir. Andy, Pinto Art Gallery is owned by Dr. Joven Cuanang (As we hear,  he is a part-shareholder of St. Lukes Hospital).

It all started with Dr. Cuanang’s enthusiasm to collect different artworks.

This is actually Dr. Cuanang’s rest house turned museum. And with a big heart to arts and artists as well, Doc open his doors by providing a place for the artist to show their artworks.

To help maintain the place, they also opened it for possible wedding or events venue as well as a place for pre-nuptial activities.

Php 5,000 for 5 person for the pre-nuptial photo-session. And it will cost Php 50,000 and up for the rent of the place for events.

The last of the Nego-Asenso training program was held on August 27 at Brgy Baesa. As compared to the two previous Nego-Asenso events, this was attended by fewer participants due to Typhoon Mina. There were only less than a hundreds present during the whole afternoon.

The program started late at 11:30am as the technical equipments (speakers) provided by the Baranggay wasn’t functioning. The topics discussed were all about Chinese dimsum making.

Brgy Captain Juan Untalan gave a short message to his constituents. Balloon concept decorated the whole place with their balloons. And aside from decorating,Balloon concept also facilitated three balloon games for all the participants which is both entertaining and educational through learning basic in balloon decorations.
