NEGO-ASENSO Livelihood Training Seminar, August 14, 2011 (Sunday) Brgy. Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City

 The 1st leg of the series of livelihood training program was initialized last August 14, Sunday at Brgy Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City.

The event was well attended by the residents

It was well attended by the residents of the community who greatly appreciated the occasion which gave them useful knowledge in making detergent powder soap, detergent/ dishwashing liquid and fabric softener so that they can start their own home based business. A total of 281 participants attended the seminar.

Technology Resource Center facilitated the seminar

The whole staff and crew were already in the venue by 6am preparing all the things needed for the event. Registration formally started at 9am but as early as 7am several residents were already in line, but as late as 1pm people are still being registered. The event ended at around 2:30pm

The event started at 10am with the Ms. Lyn Perez and Mr. Rodel Flordeliz as hosts. The other two hosts of the show, Ms Kitt Meily and Ms Arlene Razon was’nt able to come in the event. The facilitator of the seminar came from Technology Resource Center who gave a comprehensive and detailed instruction on the topic. The live demonstration was divided in three parts.

  1. Detergent powder soap
  2. Liquid detergent/dishwashing
  3. Fabric Softener

After every topic, questions were solicited from the participants. With the hosts serving as facilitators it has turned into a very informative discussion that everyone benefitted from.

Special guests also were present to give support. Including Mr. Bin of “Good Morning Kuya”, Captain Lito Bernardino with his family and the whole baranggay staff as well as some of his “Kagawads” were there. Representatives from the Rotary Club of Roces, which includes Mrs. Erilene Tumali the reigning Mrs. Philippines, who will represent the Philippines in the Mrs. Universe in Bulgaria this August, also grazed the event.

The participants were also treated with more entertainment through games that many participated. Prizes were given to lucky winners, which were provided by the shows sponsors.

A grand prize of a food cart business worth P25,000 were given away to one lucky resident. The food cart was claimed on August 15 Monday. Four of the sponsors set up their booths Asconvita, TRC, AWK Enterprises and Erase. Free Food was distributed for breakfast and lunch, and Wha Pao Baked Siopao gave snacks for all the kids, the staff and crew.

At the end of the event, 2 groups in the community composing 5 to 7 members agreed to start their Detergent business. Through the help of UNTV-Bread n’ Butter, TRC willingly agreed to support them and monitor their progress and they will be given close trainings/Hands-on in the upcoming weeks. BNB will also be monitoring the team’s progress in the upcoming weeks.
