This secret restaurant is not so secret anymore as people started discovering the exquisite taste of their wonderfully prepared mostly Italian foods. We recently visited Isabelo’s Secret Garden in Marikina City to experience what the buzz is all about. It wasnt a buzz that greeted us but a distinct kind of quietness that only a provincial setting can provide. Indeed the only sound you’ll hear are the gushing of the winds through the plant leaves, the chirping of small birds flying in the trees and the angry rumblings of my hungry stomach. (Portia) ISABELOS IS A RESERVATION RESTAURTANT SO WE DONT ACCEPT WALK INS AND WE PERSONALLY COOK FOR OUR CLIENTS. WE STARTED AS A SECRET RESTAURANT BUT OF COURSE NOT MUCH OF A SECRET COZ ITS BEEN 5 YEARS ALREADY. EVERYTHING IS DONE ON LINE. YOU BOOK ONLINE YOU FILL OUT THE FORM AND THEN YOU CAN DINE IN THE RESTAURANT

The whole place is surrounded by grass and plants as if your inside a greenhouse. Splendid art decorations created by her mom hang over the walls. We could spend endless hours here just relaxing as if on vacation. All these comes from the creative mind of Portia who was struck by Lady fate into trying a totally different field

The tri-kada got a chance to visit the secret garden.

(Portia) WELL EVERSINCE I WAS A KID IT WAS ALWAYS BEEN A DREAM OF MINE TO HAVE A RESTAURANT BUT IT NEVER REALLY OCCURED TO ME THAT IT COULD HAPPEN. THE COURSE I TOOK UP IN COLLEGE WAS IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT I TOOK UP ADVERTISING. IT WAS WHEN I DECIDED TO LEAVE THE INDUSTRY I REALLY JUST GOT TIRED NAPAGOD LANG TALAGA AKO. THEN OF COURSE WALA AKONG GINAGAWA SA BAHAY AND THERE WAS A KITCHEN AND I WAS JUST COOKING THATS WHEN I ONLY DISCOVER I CAN ACTUALLY COOK PALA……IT WAS WHEN YOU KNOW NASABI KO NA BAKA POSIBLE NAMAN NA MANYYARI NA MANGYARI YUNG DREAM KO WHEN I WAS A KID. UNTI UNTI I WORKED ONWHAT I HAD ONLY WAS JUST MY PASSION YAH DUN NA LANG LUMABAS YUNG PASSION KO FOR COOKING EH. MY DREAM IS TO PUT UP ONE AND HERE IT IS NOW

The food. Ahh the food. Lets talk about Isabelo’s food. Theirs ranks amongst the top we’ve ever tried. Thats how we describe the foods Portia cooks especially those pugon baked dishes. We assure you foods cooked in these earthenwares are 3 notch higher in taste compared to conventional types of cooking. Though the dishes are a  little bit pricey, We are more than satisfied with every cent that we spent as we were with plates after plates of the best dishes in town. A one woman cooking team, its amazing how this super gal handles all this.

This delicious beef is so tender we thought it was pork! hehehe

(Portia) WELL I THINK OUT OF THE BOX COZ WELL WHEN I 1ST STARTED THERE WAS WALA NAMANG MASYADONG SECRET RESTAURANTS MASYADO. IT WAS ONLY WHEN RECENTLY LANG THAT PEOPLE STARTED TO OPEN THEIR BACKYARDS FOR YOU KNOW BAKCYARD RESTAURANTS. AND I THINK IT WAS OUT OF THE BOX ALSO COZ I WAS THERE PERSONALLY COOKING FOR MY GUESTS TALAGA. KUMBAGA DURING THAT TIME PARANG AKO NAMAMALENGKE AKO NAGLULUTO AKO MAG HI HELLO GOOD NIGHT LINIS NG KUSINA AND YOU KNOW CLOSE THE RESTAURANT. AND ALSO PARANG I DONT KNOW KUNG NGAYON MERUN NANG GUMAGAWA NUN EVERYTHING IS DONE ONLINE YOU BOOK ONLINE AND THEN BAGO KA MAKAPASOK TALAGANG WERE VERY STRICT. SO I DONT THINK THERE ARE A LOT OF RESTAURANTS WHO DO THAT NOW. SO I THINK SIGURO ISABELLOS THE 1ST ONE WHO WAS ABLE TO HAVE THAT KIND OF CONCEPT HERE  

Seafoods are always on the lists of the favorite foods of the Tri-kada!

The ambiance of the place adds alot in the charm department. Its exclusivity adds even more mystery thats why people keep on calling to be included in the waiting list.

(Portia) WELL I THINK IT GIVE MORE OF A HOMEY FEEL NA MAY PERSONAL TOUCH TALAGA. YOU WOULD PROBABLY FEEL ITALIAN SIGURO ONCE YOU STARTED EATING THE FOOD NA. BUT OVERALL I THINK ITS MORE JUST HOMEY VERY HOMEY VERY RUSTIC NOTHING PRETENTIOUS AND YOULL FEEL VERY RELAXED

Just our kind of place to dine after a stressfull day. Oh what a heck we’ll be coming here every so often stressed or not. A blend of greeneries art and excellent food. Definitley this is heaven on a secret garden.
